Les artilleurs autrichiens, utilisaient-ils vraiment cette technique?
Ou ce dessin est faux?

Traduction Google:
Did the Austrian gunners really use this technique?
Or is this drawing wrong?

That's how I picture it. A gun weighs a bit
I have Russian Artilleryman figures with bricoles

JimDuncanUK20 Aug 2023 3:58 a.m. PST

I can't actually see the bricoles. Are they there?

JimDuncanUK20 Aug 2023 3:58 a.m. PST

I see a hint of one by the wheel on the left. I thought there would be a strap over the gunners shoulder.

von Winterfeldt20 Aug 2023 7:08 a.m. PST

already way before the bricole was copied by Gribeauval – however why would you trust a modern artist who has no clue about what he is depicting?

Firstly, I think it is a good painting and I think that I see the straps and ropes. Secondly, wasn't the use of the brioche the cause of a legendary spat on this forum some years ago?

JimDuncanUK20 Aug 2023 12:26 p.m. PST

The brioche spat? Was that concurrent with the bricole spat or at a different time?

von Winterfeldt20 Aug 2023 12:41 p.m. PST

I like brioche crema

Cerdic20 Aug 2023 1:08 p.m. PST

Brioche for brekky or croissants?

Take your sides, gentlemen…

42flanker20 Aug 2023 1:40 p.m. PST

I know nothing about this subject but I am prepared to form an opinion.

Perhaps they meant broccoli, rather than bricole?

You guys are just so quick off the mark. You stumble and the pack is on you…

Of course I meant the bricole … at least I think I did!

Quite possibly. Round about the turn of the century David Hollins and Kevin Kiley would gainsay anything and everything the other said, taking over most threads on the Napoleonic boards with their internecine quarrels. The bricole arguments became legendary in their own time, and I'm sure even brioche would arouse their tempers too.

Quel est ce livre?
Est-il disponible sur internet?

von Winterfeldt31 Aug 2023 4:48 a.m. PST

It is seemingly a series of plates, source? I don't know maybe Vienna Army museum, looking at the infantry it is from 1767 or later.

Yea! Bricoles!

Nice one miniMo, those were the days! When men were men and would argue about anything, especially Bricoles!
