The next article in my short series on building the ships in 1/3000th for the Battle of the Java Sea is now on-line. This time we look at the small US contingent. It can be found link

Trust some of you find it of interest.

Very nicely done! Enjoyed the blog post and its description of the battle. Our group played Java Sea last week using the new Nimitz rules and it went well. The IJN has lost about 5DDs but the ABDA forces were pretty beat up. This comes from the Allied player rolling a significant number of "1"s and not able to hit much of anything. The Houston succumbed to a 24" torpedo about mid way through the game as the IJN player seemed to be able to roll better dice.

Thanks for your feedback Fitzovich. It's an interesting phase of the war in the Pacific and I'm enjoying building the fleets.

It sounds like your game was interesting and rewarding. You may have noticed a fictional report played using a subset of the ships at Java Sea in one of my earlier posts on my blog – before the US destroyers were completed. If not it can be found here link
