Recently I was watching some YouTube videos on Historicon 2023. I hadn't been able to go but wanted to see what it was like.

While searching I stumbled across a great interview of my friend Dick Bryant done by Little Wars TV (www.littlewarstv.com)

Yeah! For Dick Bryant!
Thanks for posting this interview.
I was one of the lucky guys who first cut my entry into the gaming world at Dick's house in Brockton, Mass, in the early seventies. I tied in with Dick thru Charlie Sweet in CT who was a banking officer.
I would ride my Honda 305cc motorcycle up to Brockton from Rhode Island in ALL types of weather. And boy! Let me tell you how upsetting it was to learn after some of those rides it was ‘Putting the Courier Together Night' – thus no game.
Met some great guys – Leo Cronin (who I understand we've lost?), Tom Desmond, Peter Sablock (the greatest rules lawyer), Arnold Hendricks, and a few I can't spell anymore like Mangeniello. Forgive me.
We used to say Dick was THE consummate gamer. That if we ever got into a real war with the Soviets and there was real house-to-house fighting just down the street in Brockton that Dick would still schedule the monthly game – or collate the Courier night instead.
My best regards Dick as always,
Toby Barrett

I met Dick at Historicon a couple of years ago. He's such a nice man.

I really miss The Courier. I have every issue of that classic era from the start (late 70s?) until it ceased publication. (Looking for a buyer, FYI, anyone interested send me a PM!) I always enjoyed each magazine and it was a goldmine of news and information in those pre-Internet days. Thanks, Dick!

Hi Toby,
You may recall me under my given name of Byron Angel from NEWA/OCWA days. I regret to report that Leo Cronin passed away in 2021. We also lost Arnold Hendrick in 2020.

Legend! Always loved reading The Courier!

Yes, I am sorry the Courier disappeared. It wasn't simply a company marketing tool and tackled real game history and game design issues. The same is true for MWAN. Happily, like Dick, Hal is still with us.
