Just to say, our local group played a Vietnam game a couple of weeks ago.
A 25 year old newly minted LT. with two veteran Sgts searching a small village. 15mm Peter Pig, Battlefront and Flashpoint Miniatures. Force on Force Rules. A short Platoon of U.S. Infantry vs a V.C. Irregular force.
The village was a major hot zone with traps, a bunker complex and weapons, food and supplies caches. The Vietnamese were controlled by the die.

We had a great game.
This was our second Vietnam game. About our 20th Force on Force game. We are liking FonF. We have even played 1980's NATO v WarPac, just tanks, Afghanistan and now Syria with Russian operators.

A "Butter Bar?" I think I'd prefer to hide behind the Sgts.
Sounds interesting. Take any photos? We'd love to see 'em!

I can not remember how to put in a picture, LOL.

U.S. casualties were 1 KIA (I felt really terrible)
1 very serious wounded (sent stateside) and 2 light wounds (return to duty). The LT wanted to report 200+ VC casualties but was settled down by the SSgt to 16-20 KIA, 8 confirmed Wounded, possibly up to 20+. Unfortunately several civilian casualties. HOWEVER, 4 large caches of military supplies were found. Intelligence found the operating area of the 171st Main Force Regiment and uncovered a large bunker complex. Soon to be investigated by the rest of Bravo Company.
The LT actually did a good job controlling the action and not going off running after any bandits. If he survives he will turn out to be a good leader. As I said great game with some really good players. The guys said it felt like a role playing game. Very tense, lots of chrome.
