KeepYourPowderDry's attempt at usurping Radio 4's Front Row continues… A review of Pádraig Lenihan's "Raw Generals and Green Soldiers". If your interest in the Wars of the Three Kingdoms takes you to the west of the Irish Sea, you really do need this book. Recommended. link

Excellent. Thank you for the review. I'll be getting that book. Do you have a recommendation for a broad overview of the 11 years? |

Not unless you want to spend stupid amounts of cash (everything is out of print, is in high demand, so sells for lots of money) |

Thank you. Another good review of a book I'm liable to come across in my limited access. I am so envious of British book stores compared to pathetic chains on this side of the Pond. Keep up the good work! |

What do you think of the Irish made by Khurasan? Do you like the look? link |

They aren't too bad. The everyone in the same hat look, feels a little dubious to me. If I was using them I'd mix in some of the Montrose Irish Brigade to mix them up a bit. The Scots bonnets being passable as baraid caol. Personally I'm not a fan of the ragged trousers and barefoot look, but YMMV. Shame there aren't any Irish lancers. All in all probably the best 11 Years War Irish 15/18mm available |
