I've impulse-bought the reissued Airfix 1/600 Victorious and I note the flight deck is supposed to be painted green with a grey rectangle on the offset deck and a yellow stripe. I've Googled about a bit and found that this is indeed true, although at some point by the late 60s, she and other RN carriers had switched to grey on grey with broken red deck stripes.

Does anyone know when the switch happened? There is a large scale mofdel of her in a museum dated 1959 showing the green and I *think* in YouTube videos she can be seen sporting it in the 1963-4 Far East cruise.

For bonus points what's a good colour? Airfix says to use Humbrol 117 which is "US Light Green", but there is also Humbrol 88, "Deck Green", which looks interesting. The WEM Colourcoats range includes a Royal Navy Deck Green which is unfortunately enamel but looks like Humbrol 78, which is a greyish light green usually used inside aircraft. Does anyone have any good suggestions?
