I gave it a pretty good check, Stalkey. Google search turns up nothing. It does not translate, "Lauappa" is not recognized as a family name by Wikitree, which is flexible about spelling, and I can find no reference which predates Monty Python. You might almost think they made it up. But would the Python people go around inventing history? |

I thought it was Guy de le Wombat, and there are a few others online who thought the same. Various unofficical scripts say Guy de Lombard or similar. Suggested as probably a riff on the bandleader Guy Lombardo. He must have been a recognizable name as he also gets mentioned in 'Yellow Submarine'. |

"I thought it was Guy de le Wombat, and there are a few others online who thought the same." It'd be nice to see the script… must be floating around somewhere? If I can find the name, I plan to make him a member of the nobility in a game at some point. |

sfy.ru/?script=mp_holygrail is apparently the final draft of the screenplay (though actual filming didn't stick religiously to it). It does include 'There are some who call me Tim" which I have seen elsewhere was an adlib instead of a difficult name, but that may not be true or at least was changed during the final draft rewrite. Anyway, it has Guy de _Loimbard_ which would fit the 'lw' sound better than _Lombard_. There are various printed versions available to buy. |
