I'm generally a Victorian Colonial wargamer but have collected some AWI troops over the years. Together with a gaming friend we are putting on a 1776 Battle of Brooklyn AKA: Battle of Long Island game on the upcoming 247th anniversary, Sunday August 27th. I like to have some civilian figures in appropriate spots on the battlefield, when such spots exist, and there are several such spots for this battle, but the searching I've done has come up short: one pack of Perry AWI civilians that left me uninspired and some Wargames Foundry c.18th civilians that look very European. So can anyone please recommend other sources for 28mm and/or large 25mm AWI civilian figures? At best I'd like to find a mix of men & women from a variety of backgrounds -- farmers, townsfolk, Innkeeper/barmnaid, dockworkers/fishermen, an upscale merchant or two with their ladies, a reverend and a few kids. One place I haven't looked yet that I just thought of and where I should go checkt after I post this is Old Glory… but any/all other recommendations will be much appreciated, so thanks in advance for taking the time to read this! |

Try Old Glory Blue Moon 25s, Things That Go Bump in the Night, American Colonial Villagers Product ID BMM-108. Also Old Glory 25mm West Wind Gothic Horror, Realms of Terror, the Sleepy Hollow Villagers and Town Elders. |

Ethan, Look at Jim Purky's Fife & Drum line, especially the Minden civilians -- link Example:

Yes, Blue Moon has I believe two nice boxes of 18th century American civilians. |

OG's wagon train line has civilians. The men are more 19th century but hte women in long dresses and bonnets will do just fine. |

Fife and Drum are excellent. Wish the range was larger. |

That was fast! Thanks very much to everyone above for all the great recommendations! Jim, those Fife & Drum figures look excellent! With that being said, if someone else reads this and has more ideas, please don't hesitate to add them. |

Check these out. They are beautiful sculpts. A lot of the Fife & Drum/Crann Tara gamers use them: link |

Perry Miniatures makes some good civilians found in their AWI range. They mix in well with my Fife and Drum Miniatures figures. Jude Becker has started a nice range of civilians that are compatible with his Suren style figures. Other figures that I have used include the wonderful Blue Moon range, the Old Glory "Governors" pack in their Pirate range, Front Rank and Foundry's SYW figure range. Once in awhile I find civilians in a number of Fantasy figure ranges. |

Years ago I bought a pack of "plantation people" from some small manufacturer. I think they were done for museum displays or something. Crude sculpts, but some useful figs. No idea who made them, and I doubt they are still available. |
