Doing research for a home brew campaign. I can't seem to find the detailed strengths of the Iron Brigade at South Mountain and Antietam. Web pages talk about losses and brigade strengths but not of each regiments strengths. I would appreciate a point in the right direction or a link.

The Scott Mingus scenario book "UNDYING COURAGE" has the Iron Brigade in action twice, commanded by General John Gibbon…

South Mountain (Turner's Gap) Sept 14th
19th IN 268 men
2nd WI 341 men
6th WI 350 men
7th WI 375 men

Dawn in the Cornfield Sept 17th
19th IN 268 men
2nd WI 172 men
6th WI 314 men
7th WI 190 men

Brave Hearts Trembled by Brad Butovich has the Iron Bde for Antietam as:

19th IN 202 men
2nd WI 265 men
6th WI 314 men
7th WI 190 men

He calls this Engaged Strength, and says it's taken from primary and secondary sources.

For other units, since Larry and pziv covered what you need, I would suggest the game 'A Gleam of Bayonets'. Part of the SPI/TSR Great Battles of the Civil War system. Units are regiments and gives the armament and rounds the unit to the nearest 100 men.
