I see from rules you can have a frontage of single or double company's with two, three, four or six figs in the front line.
Which one of these best represents divisional and/or battalion mass? Or could any of the above be used but simply reverse the rear stand(s) as other nations do with closed column?

Exactly. Two stands wide is divisionmasse, one wide is battalionmasse

Sorry to contradict.
Divisionsmasse was not a battalion with a front of a division (ie two companies), but a division with a half-company front, so three Divisionsmassen to the battalion.
Although the Bataillonsmasse had a front of one company, I tend to represent them with a two-companies-front – not correct, but visually more pleasing. There are six stands of 4 figures abreast for my Austrian Bataillon.
