I have just seen a trailer for a German language film about a group of Wehrmacht soldiers in the Courland Pocket called 'Feldpost'. It is sometimes difficult to judge a film on the trailer itself so has anyone seen this film? If so, is it worth a watch? |

For those who are curious, the title "Feldpost" is not a reference to a posting or a field position or such. It is a reference to the mail service available to the Wehrmacht, and by extension to the letters and cards which soldaten sent and received. A reasonable translation might be "Army mail". Might be more poetically translated as "Mail from home" or some such. I think. Could be wrong. Been known to happen. Will gladly defer to anyone with first hand experience in or with German military or the feldpost. -Mark
