I'm reading Mary Roach's ‘Grunt- the curious science of the military'. It's certainly something different. It covers topics such as the us military's research into uniforms, the training of Corpsmen, the explosive science of military diarrhoea and genital reconstruction post ied injury (curiously aided by transgender surgery requirements). A serious and comical study that begins with interviews of military scientist and common soldiers but is supported by in depth research. |
