"On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the April-June 1982 campaign of the South Atlantic Conflict, the Army Historical Museum organized a National and International Exhibition and Contest of Static Modeling. The Military History Society received a kind invitation from CR Luis Leopoldo Giunti, director of the DAHE (Army Historical Affairs Directorate) and on Saturday, April 30, participated in the Exhibition.

For this reason, the war game table was presented on the first day of the Defense of Buenos Aires on July 5, 1807. It is four meters long by two meters wide and has represented the situation after noon, when the English columns, after overcoming the first line of outposts and having taken La Residencia (today Barracas) in the south of the city, and the Bullring (today Retiro) in the north, had entered the city and suffered the counterattack by the viceregal army without having been able to reach the main redoubt of the Plaza Mayor.

The emblematic buildings of the Plaza Mayor are represented on the table: the Cabildo, the Recova, the Cathedral, the Fort and a two-story plot that evokes the Altos de Escalada. You can also see the churches of La Merced and Santo Domingo and the house of the Virreina Vieja. The figures are 28mm lead of various brands transformed to adapt them to the period, but most of the viceregal troops have been specially modeled for this collection. They have all been hand painted. Scales and proportions: a figure=30 soldiers, a gun model=3 guns. Terrain scale 1:500…"
