I guess I'm too poor for this hobby now.

I must be the last one in existence… and gold plated.

There's a sucker born every minute.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but this rather begs the question: Is it unethical to bootleg miniatures that are "OOP?"

pzivh43 Supporting Member of TMP18 Jul 2023 7:36 a.m. PST

Define unethical? If it sells for $1,500 USD, that means someone valued it at that price.

I'm feeling Buyer's Remorse just thinking about it!

Hey you get free shipping!

HMS Exeter18 Jul 2023 9:05 a.m. PST

My only understanding of "bootleg" as regards miniatures, is they are unauthorized recasts. The lots look to be MISR and MOC.

FoW has gone to plastic on their figures and metal is reselling at a premium.

pzivh43 Supporting Member of TMP18 Jul 2023 9:44 a.m. PST

Yeah, bootlegging or recasting, is highly unethical, IMO.

Black Bull18 Jul 2023 1:59 p.m. PST

I've got one of those somewhere interesting to what it actually sells for

Kuznetsov18 Jul 2023 3:44 p.m. PST

Thing is I'm not into the plastic stuff as much but they said that no one would pay for metal. :(

Todd63618 Jul 2023 4:02 p.m. PST

Depends how you look at it. You could pay only $66.83 USD. Per month. For 24 months.

Kuznetsov18 Jul 2023 5:39 p.m. PST

But wait, there's more. Act now.

I assume it's pro-painted and each figure has its own family tree….

microgeorge18 Jul 2023 7:06 p.m. PST

The listing was pulled by the seller for "errors". He might have noticed this thread on TMP or mistakenly added an extra zero.

Col Piron19 Jul 2023 3:13 a.m. PST

I remember the great Tiger 1 (P) shortage a few years back , when people were paying $100 USD for 1 .

Which I couldn't understand , as at the time it could only be used as a HQ tank in 1 list . huh?

Kuznetsov19 Jul 2023 9:59 a.m. PST

@microgeorge thanks. $150 USD makes more sense…

Maybe to us, but the seller thought $300 USD made more sense:

Not to hijack the hijacked thread, I've got quite a bit of OOP stuff. Aside from throwing them up for 1023102104 dollars, what is a "fair" price these days for metal? Does it command a premium? I for one love the weight of it. Was wondering what other peoples thoughts were.

There's no easy answer. Its going to depend heavily on what nation and what specific blister it is. Early war stuff is getting harder to find as it hasn't been produced in years, but many mid/late war models have come back in plastic or are still common in resin/metal.

Blisters with heroes like Patton, Rommel, Wittman, etc usually command a premium. Old limited edition dice tins too. You'd have to list what you got for me to help you.

Shoot me an email, kwnicholson@ the gmails. And I'll get you a list.
