I very rarely contribute to LAF – indeed I rarely contribute here anymore- but I value it both as a great resource and for its entertainment value.

And this is a problem? I tried to join that forum a couple of times several years back and was told I didn't qualify. You were probably getting a similar bug screen. LAF doesn't disqualify applicants (as far as I'm aware). It's a polite and friendly site, only interested in wargames and wargame's figures and it's not somewhere to go for an argument. Indeed, if things do get heated (rare in my experience) the next posts usually have everyone apologising to each other rather than digging in. Because of that consideration for others, things always move politely on and no one feels slighted. That makes it kind of comfortable; its somewhere you can go in your slippers before bedtime. LAF probably doesn't have a huge community because the things discussed there aren't click bait. It's about figures, and games, and rules, and wargames stuff. It doesn't need the numbers as much as a commercial site so it can be pretty niche. |

Love LAF the mods there are very good at keeping things on topic which I appreciate it. It has a very different feeling to TMP (which I also love) and the various facebook groups I frequent. I think one the reasons for that are the long running threads on LAF were you can see people's projects progress over months, or sometimes years, something you can't really do on TMP or Facebook because posts have a very limited life span of a few days before the disappear under a barrage of new posts. |

Been in the hobby 50+ years, ran a game store for 18, served with GAMA in several positions for several years including winning an industry service award,, but those were not good enough credentials. So no need for me to be bothered with LAF for anything. |
