You know Star Wars is well in the toilet when the thought of Disney selling it back to George Lucas sounds like a good idea.

That's one rumour at least.

I'm not sure what's worse, the stuff I haven't been watching, or Jar Jar Binks and company?

All this nonsense, and real fans are still waiting for the original trilogy to be released above dvd (via laserdisc), or at least made available again.

Never believe rumors about good things. In fact, be careful about believing reports of good things. People are frighteningly good at convincing themselves that what they want to be true is true.

If it is true, at some point there will be evidence.

Of course.

It was just interesting.

He sold it for a reason, plus I'd assume he'd want it back for less, so I doubt Disney would want to go much lower.

Also caught site that Arabians may be interested.

Choose you poison, so to speak.

I just wish Disney would sort themselves out.

Now India, Bollywood, that could be interesting.

Now I am just imagining the hero and the big bad are fighting.. and breaking out into song, with a half dozen costume changes for a quick fight…

Breaking out into song and multiple costume changes would be far more entertaining than the dreck Disney has been putting out

It's not a matter of Disney--or any other studio--"sorting itself out." If you want different art, you need people who think differently, and western "creatives" are pretty much in lockstep. This will change. I'd say ten to twenty years at the movie end. Faster--maybe five to ten?--in books and comics, where the "greenlight people" aren't placing quarter-billion dollar bets. Have patience, and remember there's plenty of good old stuff out there.

I downloaded three different Edmund Hamilton collections last night for what I paid to see The Adventures of Old Indiana Jones. "Lost Treasure of Mars" (Amazing Stories, August 1940) is about third-tier Hamilton, but it still had a sharper archeologist, a prettier girl and a much funnier comic relief assistant. Older booby trap, too.

More rumers are Disney may be selling stuff off.

Wonder if Star Wars may feature.
