But will we see Josephine's little dog biting Napoleon on their wedding night? That's what these movies never show!!

It is always surprising how some people can put down a movie before they even see it! LOL

I'm just grateful we have something 'Napoleonic' to discuss and moan about, rather than none. And a bonus it is based around a great man.

But I seriously think we can only 'expect' an historically 'accurate' period film if they employed TMP members as advisors. Saying that, even that would depend on which members were employed as such. LOL

You flatter me! But I hate to disappoint you and the rest here on TMP. You see, I have more in life to do rather than to contribute towards the myth of the tyrannical 'Forwardcombinglittlefat****er'.

Many beautiful images and scenes, inspired from paintings in some cases, in particular with Egypt, hope that all is interesting is not concentrated here…you can have bad surprises with the movies

With some Napoleonic board advisors I am afraid we would have a NapoleonHitlerPutinBokassaDuvalierMaoStalin, the coronation as in Bangui and his SS Tontons Macoutes of the Red Imperial Guard fighting the Great Army of the Redcoats throughout the movie and genociding the Europeans
I learned recently that even 80% of the French Army was not gathered in 1814 against the Austro-Russo-Prussians but against VilainThon's german-anglo-portuguese-sicilian-piemontese troops on the pyrenean borders, when you meet a such degree of bad faith and manipulation there is nothing to hope…and not sure we will not served with such injunctions in this movie when you see in a scene a british flag at the forefront on a curious map of Europe (?!) with one austrian and one prussian only far behind, this feels the usual british memorial and historiographical imposture and holp-up of the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars against Austria Russia and Prussia we have to suffer everyday in the napoleonic board

by the way if the Sphinx lost his nose, we have the explanation, it is probaly another cannon ball of the French Artillery of Gribeauval at ~17 km from the battlefield able to touch the Pyramids, like the long-range artillery of World Wars…

advisors get usually ignored, director's usually suffer from the same bid head syndrome as Boney, don't listen nor take on any advise.

"Napoleon" will be in theaters too. I saw a preview for it when I saw "Oppenheimer" which I highly recommend.

Er, it wasn't meant to flatter. But thanks for proving my point. LOL

Napoleon will always create discussion and contradicting views, be it history, films or books. I guess he is immortal.

someone like Ridley Scott able to compare Napoleon with "Hitler" or "Stalin" like it happens in our napoleonic boards lost all credibility
