Does anyone know of a set of rules for fighting the American Civil War with 6mm figures. |

Not sure if you meant to post in Naps, or if it's the Bug. Bill can probably change it for you. There are multiple sets in which the size or number of figures does not matter. Fire and Fury, DBACW, and Volley and Bayonet all immediately pop into mind. What type of battles do you want to play? |

Altar of freedom or Longstreet |

Any set of rules which uses elements and not individual figures. So pretty well all of them. What level of games are you interested in? |

Fire & Fury (either brigade or regimental, depending on what level of game you want) Volley & bayonet for army level games Longstreet for divisional clashes Pickets Charge if you like for detail. Any set of rules not using individual basing will work fine |

Bloody Big Battles (BBB) got a positive mention in this regard on this "Gettysburg in 6mm" thread last week: TMP link Reviews of BBB here: link Lots of ACW after-action reports on the BBBBlog too. |

Black Powder also works in addition to the ones noted above |

As has been pointed out there are several good sets, each have their strengths. I would suggest you consider what sized actions you are contemplating. For me I was looking at refighting the larger battles and our group uses Volley & Bayonet which really allows that. Here is a link to the Volley & Bayonet site, it may be of use and includes several scenarios, including some ACW ones. volleyandbayonet.wordpress.com Alternatively my "On Campaign with Volley & Bayonet" site has a number of fictional and historical game reports. That may give you something of a primer for the rules. battlesin6mm.blogspot.com Good luck. |
