Thanks, friends, for the advice and encouragement. I just finished my model of the Whydah Gally this morning. Just in the knick of time too, as I have the gallery space for the month of July at my local library branch. I'm embarrassed to admit how many hours this week alone it took to get it over the finish line, though there's still more details I would have liked to have finished.

I'll be following up with a part 2 of the tutorial I was working on, but for now, here's some photos of the finished model:

Phenomenal! I have to give props to the titanic amount of work that it took to build and detail that model. A delight.

What a splendid ship model! I will be looking forward to reading your tutorial update. Is there historical data on the dimensions of the Whydah? You are truly a fine modeler.

Cheers!

Thanks Gallo, I appreciate it. Here is the 2nd part of the tutorial:

Im not sure what the ogiginal sources fkr the dimensions of the ship, but according to wiki:
300 tons, 110 ft (34 m) length
fully rigged, 3 masts
speed: 13 knots (24 km/h; 15 mph)
18 active guns, but Bellamy used 28 active guns.

I found the mast height somewhere too, ill have to check my computer back home. Thanks again
