This morning's post is a shameless plug for the Pike and Shot Society. Well worth a visit to their site even if, like me, you aren't a member, as there are some excellent books for sale. (I take no responsibility for any dents to your wallet if you haven't visited before. Please purchase books responsibly. 😉) link |

Interesting but a flat 40% ROW handling and shipping charge makes this prohibitive. Alan in Australia |

But not everything gets a 40% shipping charge. Items in stock in the US are 20% shipping charge. Maybe you'll be lucky and what you fancy is in stock in the US? |

No. The 20% rate only applies to US based stock being sent to a USA address. |

@alan in Canberra. For cheaper books 40% extra is not a bad deal. If you are a member, booksxare discounted quite a lot as well. Postage from UK to Australia is ridiculously expensive. We have family in Sydney and a package that would cost about £4.00 GBP to post within UK will be anything from £10.00 GBP to £25.00 GBP to send to Australia. We now try to source all birthday and Christmas presents from Australian sources. We used Book Depository a lot as well, but Amazon have pulled the plug on that. |

While we are on the subject of the PSS, can anyone tell me what the most recent release of the Arquebusier is? This thread Le me to think that I haven't seen one for a long time. |

AussieAndy: The last issue was Volume 38, Issue 2. Hopefully issue 3 will be out soon. |

alan in canberra: As already mentioned there is a large discount for members of the Society which can make a big dent to the costs. Also as the Society is a non-profit making organisation we are happy to just charge the cost of the postage or whatever you would like to do by arrangement. But I am afraid that unless you are making a large order you will not save much, or indeed make any saving at all :( Contact the treasurer for this – pikeshotreasurer@icloud.com |
