Does playing wargames help you with other games, such as the TV trivia game of Jeopardy? Rate your Jeopardy skill from 0 (none) to 10 (Ken Jennings level).

4 I can usually get the answer but not in the time limit

Not really.
Miniatures gaming does not usually have any urgency.

The older I get the lower the number.

My friend Col Jim used to clear the board on Jeopardy, he certainly could have been a Ken Jennings.

I used to play along with Jeopardy game in the day and I usually came in 2nd. It was always about general knowledge and the only tie in was a minor advantage in historical knowledge.

It seemed the show sort of came apart about 1995-2000 with controversies over badly framed questions, humiliating the contestants, especially the kid'testants, and just general bad form. P'tooey.

I parted ways with the show long ago. The Sturm and Drang over Trebek's replacement just solidified my distaste.

I hold my own with the answers but I can never remember to put them in the form of a question. I wouldn't win a dollar…

Rate myself at Jeopardy … 8 (given that I am at home, not under pressure)

Does wargaming help trivia? Sometimes. I would bet TMP membership overall has a better geography score than the average. Probably a couple other topics … maybe the poll in in which trivia areas does wargaming help you?

Probably in the 4-6 range. I have always been good at trivia, but i haven't kept up with pop culture so that would be a hindrance.

I doubt any of this has anything to do with wargaming.

9 at home. 8-9 for real, on the set, playing for blood, so to speak. I went 6 for 8 on the show, and that was when there was a 5 game limit for the regular season. Made the semis in the 1999 TOC and got an invite to the 2005 Ultimate TOC. It'd be interesting to see how age and a stroke have affected me, or not. And not directly translatable to gaming, but being able to retain AND retrieve info is a handy asset, no matter the endeavor. link

7-8. I have 2 older brothers. As teens we would play along at home and keep score. Did more than wargaming for my jeopardy but wargaming has helped the obscure history

Do I usually remember to frame my answers in the form of a question?

What is the number '5' ?

I'll take Dungeon Crawls for one hundred, Alex.
