I wasn't happy with my first stab at painting the individual stones so I tried a more subtle approach. Unfortunately this is very labor intensive. I'm still trying to make up my mind between this and just drybrushing it all. More here link

The way you painted the gate house looks like a good direction to go. Perhaps a 'tone down' of the more noticeable
stones to mute the differentiations could be tried. It must
be easier than an entire re-paint would be.

They are coming along superbly. I wouldn't cry, seeing them on the table. Maybe be a bit jealous…

Personally I think I'd have gone down the block in colour, ink, then dry brush route, with just a few stones picked out in a different colour per section. Yours looks very effective but very time consuming.

Pretty amazing work. You are clearly a patient person. I especially like the stepped gable stone house.
