"The Old World box sets" Topic

There are rumours that warhammer the old world will see the rerelease of old boxed sets.

Battle for skull pass and island of blood in particular.

This is because these are the newest models, I would assume.

However, this doesn't add up.

Firstly, Skaven are not in the lists of armies to be supported at this time, yet feature in IOB.

So island of blood is immediately out.

More likely the elves will be boxed with something else, or by themselves. Perhaps the Skaven will be boxed by themselves but not linked to new releases, like I think some of the sprues already are?

I think the orcs and Empire from 6th may be reused.

I suspect we will just see indiviual army boxes, perhaps bundled with rules. I'm not expecting a two army box, certainly not multiple.

Perhaps I'll be surprised?

Skaven WILL be supported…just with a PDF list for the time being. No telling what may happen in the future. But besides that, Skaven have a dual use, bothe in WHTOW and in AoS. So I wouldn't automatically dismiss it.

Of course. All the WFB armies are at least getting a pdf update, as far a I can tell, less going waaay back like slann.

But they are just basic thing so you can use your old army. The armies arnt in TOW. They are not being supported.

Don't expect pages in the new rules and fluff dedicated to Skven or the other old races.

In the future? Maybe, but if it flops, maybe not.

I suspect cities of Sigmar and any Empire, elves, so on releases will show us how GW will treat the divide going forward.

Expect very contrasting armies. Orcs-urakzimawhatzamadoozies, undead-nighthaunts, so on.Skaven still use WFB figures for Aos, so expect Aos revamp if they are ever done for TOW.

The PDFs are just to get people with existing, or proxy, armies to be able to buy the new rules and play. GW will be hopeing they will then buy a new army for it at some point. Anything to get them to play the game.

Was just in GW and staff are being treated like mushrooms. Knew less than me about it.
