A Henry VIII "device" artillery fort built at Portland Harbour.

King Henry built numerous forts and blockhouses around England after he broke with the Catholic church. Ironically he raised much of the money by dissolving the Catholic monasteries and abbeys.

Also featured are two ex-D-Day Phoenix caissons built for the Mulberry Harbours and my first ever 'blooper' reel. Well, it made me laugh!

Thanks, not sure if I've been there so must have another look. There is another of forts at Southsea (Southsea Castle) in Portsmouth. You can see this one on the famous painting of the land and see forces/battle where the Mary Rose was sunk.

In Hampshire, where I live, as well as Southsea there is also Calshot Castle and Hurst Castle. Both modified as part of 'Palnerston's follies' and then again in WWI & WWII.
