I took a quick look and could not find a discussion on this. I have to rethink my storage on an emergency basis and I am wondering if anyone stores their figures in potential high heat situations. I am in Texas and I am considering using my shed and or sun room. In Texas it can get up to 115 on rare days but 107 is not unusual. Sheds and attics can get warmer than that. I stored metal figures in an attic for over 10 years without issue and I am not really concerned about them in the shed, but it is more the plastic figures I am concerned about. I have already decided that resin and balsa stuff stays indoors. Just wondering on how all my plastic Perry, Warlord, etc stuff will hold up. Any thoughts? |

Howdy from Austin! I had some 1/72 Airfix miniatures that I'd bought in the early 70's and at some point put them up in the attic. They were up there for probably about 15-20 years. I've since brought them down and they're very brittle, they crumble to the touch. But I've heard that's a problem with some of the old plastics no matter how their stored. It gets really hot up in the attic in the summer. Good luck. |

I'm here in Arlington and I'd advise you to find somewhere that is air-conditioned to store it. Perhaps at a friend's or relative's house? |

If you can't accommodate your items within an AC serviced home area, I'd A) establish an AC serviced home setting for yourself, you goodies and your significant others, or B) Locate a storage facility with a climate controlled section. |
