I like the term "unexplained". It doesn't say "unexplainable", since the article lists a few mundane explanations for the objects. I would like to add my own unexplained artifact. My wall calendar has a red ink circle around June 6th. Neither SWMBO nor I remember who circled it or why. Could have been family or friend randomly circling it just to mess with us … I mean I would do that to one of them. Regardless, no verifiable explanation. I'd suggest most of these are only remarkable because we have far too high an opinion of ourselves vis a vis older peoples. The human brain is unlikely to have evolved much in the last 2 million years; our 'intelligence' is far mroe dependant on circumstances and education that we'd like to admit. |
