From 0 to 10, 0 meaning you have no terrain, and 10 meaning you have everything you need. |

8 One never seems to have enough trees, fences and walls. |
UshCha | 20 May 2023 1:08 a.m. PST |
Similarly 8. The terrain system is not sytatic. Hedges were originally just random lengths, that took too long to lay (1/144 scakle so you need meny feet of hedge). Then moved to specific hedge lengths which speeded up laying but not as much as I hoped. Now articulated hedges, far faster to lay. Scenary will change as innovation and whim changes. My roads were printed with a hedge either side, again just to speed up terrain laying. Again only sort of worked. Even with regular use you tended to forget it was a hedge as it was not 3D. These are being removed as the articulated hedge does not get forgotten and the laying speed is acceptable. Hopefuly more innovation by me or sombody else will make it worth changeing again. I give 8 because I now have enough Kallistra hex to do all I want and most of the fold flat buildings I need. However after 10+ years some stuff is stating to need replacing wear in tear is beginning to show in places. |

9 I have pretty much everything I'm going to use. There may be a piece(s) I will need for a future scenario or a new mat to pickup along the way, but overall I'm good. If I do need something I will likely ask around the group and see if I can borrow whatever I need. Kinda potluck gaming. |
Old Contemptible | 20 May 2023 3:15 a.m. PST |
9 I have just about everything I need. It depends on the upcoming scenarios, like a German pontoon bridge for a river crossing in 1940. Had to get some more bunkers for another. Sometimes I just have to make what I need. |
myxemail | 20 May 2023 3:46 a.m. PST |
A 6 for 15mm Eastern front WW II , and just getting started for 28/32mm sci-fi, which I will give a 2 |

9.5. I think I have everything I need except indoor furniture for Renaissance/fantasy skirmish & RPGs, but scenario designers continually prove me wrong. |
FusilierDan | 20 May 2023 3:55 a.m. PST |
5 I need more jungle terrain, buildings for SE Asia, sand dunes for the desert, winter terrain. Yes I'm about half way there |
BrockLanders | 20 May 2023 4:03 a.m. PST |
7. I consider it a never ending process to get all of the terrain I need for the various scales and periods we play. I do have enough to put games on for everything we play, but always adding/fine tuning |

0. Unless my 40K armies want to fight in Normandy I need more |
Saber6 | 20 May 2023 4:46 a.m. PST |
9. Between, GeoHex, self made tiles and Cigarbox mats I have a lot of options. Trees, bocage, and woods templates seem to have plenty. Buildings to suit most periods and locations. But then again, I decided to spend a year and the funds that i would spend on troops and focused on terrain, |
JMcCarroll | 20 May 2023 4:54 a.m. PST |
Depends on the scale. 6mm though 32mm. Overall my local group is pretty good. |

Mister Tibbles | 20 May 2023 6:11 a.m. PST |
15mm Normandy: maybe 5? Never got around to making hedge rows. All other scales about a 2. That's what convention games are for. Getting to play with everyone else's fantastic scenry. |
cavcrazy | 20 May 2023 6:24 a.m. PST |
On a scale of 1-10, I am at 15. I have way more terrain, rivers, trees, buildings, and fields that one man could ever ask for. |

8 can always use more. Have a dream of making a couple of really big items when/if space allows. |

7 I have enough to cover an 8'x 4'table with Geo-Hex, a few Cigar Box Mats, plenty of hedges, over 300 trees, plenty of eastern front & western front buildings, bridges, 2 Pontoon bridges, roads & rivers. but looking at purchasing some custom rivers and roads. |

3. Need more buildings, hedges, and walls. I have town walls, bridges, a few buildings, a river system, wooden stake walls, and an ancient British village. Short of wall towers. I also have a half-completed Welsh castle, and a half-completed cliff in the form of two triangles that fit together for a peninsula or split for the sides of a bay. I think "half-completed" is the most significant word there |
Rdfraf | 20 May 2023 10:28 a.m. PST |
People are still using Geohex! I have a lot of that stuff and for some reason no longer use it. It is truly a great system. |

25 I have two and a half times what I need. I currently have three ongoing terrain scratchbuild projects. |

8, need a couple of long bridges, and a railway bridge in 6mm, and I need to make some more walled fields for my Malta project. Also looking for something to use as a canal, that does not look like a river. |

7-ish I suppose. I probably don't actually need any more terrain, but I want to finish all of the various palm trees I've collected, to build all of the science-fiction buildings for which I have materials, and to try my long-delayed tie-bleach-hydrogen peroxide experiment on my dark brown fabric. And when I've finished all of that stuff, I'll still make more, because I like making things. |
gamertom | 20 May 2023 4:51 p.m. PST |
6 I have plenty of terrain, but in a hodgepodge of scales and periods. So often not enough for a specific period for anything but a small game. ACW & WWII are probably my most complete collections. But never enough fences (especially split rail), woods, or hedges/bocage. I do have enough buildings. |
Dal Gavan | 20 May 2023 7:10 p.m. PST |
About 7. I need more hedges, walls, fences and (completed) hills. I have too many trees and buildings, and (uncompleted) hills. |
Parzival | 21 May 2023 5:18 a.m. PST |
Depends on the game. But I will put myself in the 5 category. |

Thanks for asking. Between 8 and 10. 15mm scenery tends to be fairly easy in terms of storage space and money spend. I have spent most time and money recently on game specific mats. Modern printed mats are so good that I have a different one for each game. Modern mats really set the scene even before the scenery pieces are laid on it. Roads can be a problem. They are often short pieces that can fragment their continuity during a game. The linked ones from Adventure Terrain are excellent. The old long rubber ones from Scenery effects(?) are well used too. I have a couple of hundred Tablescape deciduous trees which are super for 15mm euro/US type games. For scenery templates I have S+A ones in four different colour styles. Very durable and clear. As most games I play are gridded scenery can be sprinkled and still clearly delineated in game terms. I have thrown out felt templates, 2x2 and 1x1 tiles, felt cloths, mod roc hills, lichen and a lot of merit (Charles grant) trees. In bring and buys I can always sell a pair of houses but not a big castle. martin |

"Need" is a slippery word. I mean, it's a rare day I have to refrain from doing something simply because I lack a suitable terrain piece, so in that sense I have almost everything I need. But I have a significant list of things I'd like to, when finances and hobby time permit, to buy or make, to complement or replace terrain I've already got. |
