In the early days of the internet there was this website that featured a guy who would take off a week or so every year and have a huge battle in his back yard (HUGE back yard) He had 100's of models of tanks and aircraft. He would also make individual infantry men out of clay. He would even name them. He was kind of of reclusive about his strange hobby. Does anyone remember this or was it a fever dream?

I remember a guy with hundreds of tanks, planes, etc. but I am pretty sure the guy I am thinking of used plastic army men.

Do you remember where he lived, generally?

I remember that website, I though it was pretty cool the way he played with the plastic soldiers in his backyard. But I have no information on it to potentially look it up on they Internet Archive.
