I just watched the film, Sisu (no spoilers).
As an admirer of all things Finnish. it was a fun little romp in an over the top Rambo sort of way. It does require a rather significant amount of "willing suspension of disbelief."

Like most action films these days.

Does make you kind of wonder how "over the top" action films are going to be ten years from now.

I prefer 'Unknown Soldier'.

I agree.
But I think they are different genre.

Unknown Soldier is a war film (and a good one)

This is an over the top action flick, with very little bearing on reality.

From the trailers Sisu doesn't look any more over-the-top than the latest Fast & Furious (what are they on now, 8?) or MI. Plus it has that flying land mine bit which gives me a chuckle.

It was an enjoyable romp. Lot's of action, but needed a huge "suspension of disbelief"

The only thing that bothers me is that the enemy are Germans rather than Russia. It was Russia that invaded Finland, and, with the concept of the enemy of my enemy is my friend, Finland fought with Germany against Russia. But even then, it was a restrained alliance.

But, hey, it's not a historical movie. But I don't know why Commies couldn't have been the bad guys.

I suspect they did that as if they were still fighting the Russians he would still have been in the army.

Well, during the Lappland War in 1944 the Finns fought the Germans, even if they were forced to do it…

This movie has nothing to do with history, it's just a trash action movie. As correctly noted, the same modern "Fast and the Furious" or "John Wick". A meaningless fairy tale under popcorn.
