To complete my Punic Wars project I obviously needed some Romans and these are also from the Victrix range. With their two different Republic Roman sets you can easily represent the less well armoured Hastati alongside the chainmail wearing Principes and Triarii. The skirmishing Velites also look great with their wolfskins. The Italian Allied set was also used.

Here are 3 cohorts (one made as an Italian Ally) out of the 5 that I have assembled. Alongside some Roman cavalry.

I've recently bought all the boxes you've presented in your three Punic war posts, and I haven't even built one figure yet, let alone get paint on them. You put me to shame :(

Very nicely done indeed, all your Punic war stuff has been impressive.

Well it was a big project to undertake and I thought that the contrast paints were a bit of a risk. But it turned out to be the best choice I made. Having a relatively limited palette is quite useful, some variation is needed to show the general lack of uniforms but you can still show colour themes for each army with a few accents: edging on the Iberian tunics and simple crosshatches on the Gauls to make them stand out.
