Well, I am not sure if this qualify as "media"… pretty sure it did a few thousands years ago. Which is where this coin comes from! I am getting into a parallel hobby, the marvellous and wild world of coin collection.

Funny, I was just thinking about this topic last week. I have a few ancient and Medieval coins, as well as some Spanish coins from the 14 and 1500s. Common ancient coins are, relatively speaking, rather inexpensive. I think collecting antique coins very much compliments figure collecting. I would say collecting militaria is the same.

Do business with reputable dealers and you should not have any problems.

I used to pick up some ancient coins for fun. I especially liked looking for coins from civilizations that no longer exist. It was fun, but I was into too many things, and the nicer ones were just too expensive. But it was a great way to learn about ancient history, and just how many folks had the ability to mint coins, and then kind of went away.
