In 2023, what would you use for rules for the various Poland Russia (and maybe Sweden) conflicts?

Now that twilight website is confusing, in terms of what is in a bundle, and what is needed to play. As such it puts me off investigating the rules, let alone spending money to look at it

The bundle is the 'Twilight of Divine Right' plus 'Fire & Sword' (at the bottom of the page). That is what you need to play. The scenario books are separate, and you can by 'Fire & Sword' separately (if you already have 'Twilight of Divine Right'

By Fire & Sword.

Pikeman's Lament.

However, in Miniature Wargames of Dec 2021 (issue #464), there is an article starting on page 18 that provides a set of home brew rules that I'd like to try out at some point. The author didn't share a name for them, although perhaps the article's name could be such … "The Eastern Front".

Helion has good resource material for the era, and some is provided as part of the "By Fire & Sword" publications.

28mm Figures are available from 1st Corp, Foundry, The Assault Group, Warlord, perhaps others.

No legal PDFs of any of these rules, or am I missing something?

By Fire & Sword is coming out with a 2nd edition of their rules. There was a kickstarter that recently ended on May 11th, and very disappointed that I missed it.

However, they did have downloadable PDFs of the 2nd edition Beta version, as well as the Playbook, and Army Book 1 containing Polish/Lithuania, Sweden, Norway-Denmark, Prussia, and Mercenary Forces (suspect Book 2 will have Cossacks, Moscovites, Ottomans, and Tartars). Here is a link …

Osprey provides a downloadable PDF verison of Pikeman's Lament for purchase, and here is a link …

Also, to the best of my knowledge, there's no PDF of the home brew rules mentioned above, although these are very brief, and perhaps there's a back issue of the magazine that they were printed in still available somewhere.

Have played "Twilight of the Soldier Kings", and it seemed very well done. Imagining that "Twilight of Devine Right" could be similar. Thanks for the posting of the site!
