I really like the look of the North Star figures for Muskets and Tomahawks. I am trying to locate other manufacturers that compare well in size to these. They have a bit more "bulk" and height to them than other 28mm figures.

I have looked at some of the comparison photos online, but it hasn't really helped too much. For example, AW Miniatures seem to look a bit larger in the photo I saw, but when seen in person, they look really big and bulky next to North Star.

Sash and Saber doesn't look bad height wise, though a bit thinner, but the weapons look minuscule compared to North Star.

Special Artizan Savage Frontier seem to match the best, but their figures are mainly Rangers and the Battle on Snowshoes.

I own a bunch of Warlord and Brigade Games figures, which size well with each other, but I really do like the sculpts for North Star. I would prefer to try to stick with mostly North Star, if possible.

Specifically, I am looking for a Highlander officer and/or NCO, British Regulars in winter gear (though the AW figures don't work too badly with Savage Frontier), and larger size figures for Last of the Mohicans. I picked up the Muskets and Tomahawks Indian Characters pack, which has Hawkeye, Magua, chingachgook, and Uncas, but neither of the female characters, British, or civilians.

Thanks. I'm appreciative of any help.

Warlord games sell a last of the Mohicans set in 28mm that includes the female characters. Lots of other useful sets for the the FIW.

I agree that NS FIW figs are really nice. I have most of them, but mainly have Brigade, Warlord/Conquest, and some Eureka. So even though it doesn't help with the "bulkiness" issue, I cut the NS ones off their base, and glue the feet directly onto my standard fender washer bases. It works pretty good, especially when keeping them together in their own unit.

Redoubt Enterprises would most likely match up well.

Try Galloping Major figures.

Just a question to you guys who do FIW. I am working 0n a box of Warlord plastic Indians. Does anyone else make eastern woodland Indians in plastic? TIG

Thanks for all the leads (as leeds not leds). I am developing a game based on "The Last of the Mohicians" using Studio Tomahawk "Congo" rules and found link to Warlord and North Star very useful. Did not know they made this range. I can use Tenskwatawa for my Tippecanoe game too. Strange the figure is in Warlord F&I War range.

tigrifsgt,
You might want to try these. They are resin but might suit your needs. chrisparkergames.com/shop

Thanks I like those, and at about two bucks a piece they will probably fit my needs.
