Most definitely probably

Is that a non-answer? grin

"Who said I'm retired???" would probably sum up my situation. We've moved house two times since retirement, once across country, and I have yet to reestablish a steady gaming circle. It's been very difficult to find historical gamers and minis gamers in this area (Madison, WI), there's no central gathering spot or support group for the scene.

At least I've made contact with a couple of stellar chaps via TMP, I'm happy to say. Anyone else out there?

advocate08 May 2023 11:34 p.m. PST

Probably. To be honest I never have kept a log of how many games I play and my memory for such trivia is bad.

Prince Rupert of the Rhine09 May 2023 1:43 a.m. PST

Retired? I wish I have another 20 years to get through before that happens ..unless my lottery numbers come up.

Disco Joe09 May 2023 1:54 a.m. PST

No

Redcurrant09 May 2023 2:24 a.m. PST

Only slightly more, mainly because I have only a couple of regular opponents, one of whom lives away. I do not belong to the local club.

Yes, and helping to organize events for our gaming group.

Dagwood09 May 2023 3:43 a.m. PST

Yes

rustymusket09 May 2023 6:07 a.m. PST

for a while then, no.

Alakamassa09 May 2023 6:14 a.m. PST

Not really. Up-sized to a big place where I have separate workshop, studio and gaming room. Several guest bedrooms for friends to stay overnight and play. All I need are people to play with. Hard to entice people to visit this fly-over state. I still play once a month at our gaming club.

Well I was until my last opponent got too old and tired. Things have changed. Things may change again.

Yes, from twice a month to about six to seven times a month.

It's the dream (or at least part of the dream), I'll let you know when I find out….

nickinsomerset09 May 2023 7:18 a.m. PST

Not so much, probably 1-2 games a week, but spend more time pottering in me shed!

Dave Knight09 May 2023 7:53 a.m. PST

Yes

Grelber09 May 2023 7:57 a.m. PST

No. I retired and we went into the pandemic a few months later with everybody staying home. Things are just getting back to normal here.

Still, one does have one's hopes for the future.

Not retired yet. I have 3.5 years before I hit 70 to max out SS.

Currently gaming about 6 times a month. I hope to get that number to 8+ after but that will depend on my wife's health.

MajorB09 May 2023 8:45 a.m. PST

Not retired (yet)

cloudcaptain09 May 2023 9:04 a.m. PST

Just hoping to make it to retirement. 16 years to go. Based on the lifespan of my parents it's a gamble.

Choctaw09 May 2023 9:05 a.m. PST

I'll retire in the next four years, eleven months and ten days but it's not like I'm counting down. I can definitely see myself playing much more when I have the time to spare and I'm not so tired after work.

Shark Six Three Zero09 May 2023 10:33 a.m. PST

Another 3 or years until retirement.

Yes to gaming.

Painting a lot more.

Shagnasty Supporting Member of TMP09 May 2023 12:56 p.m. PST

Yes a little more. I've got a great group to game with but have to drive 30 miles to get there. The road is beginning to be more challenging/frightening than in the past.

Personal logo Sgt Slag Supporting Member of TMP09 May 2023 2:12 p.m. PST

Seven years left, before I can retire. I would love to game more often, but work, and life, dictate otherwise.

Hoping to host more games when I do retire. Hard to get together now, and when I do retire, most of my fellow gamers will still be working! Oh, well… Cheers!

Phillius09 May 2023 2:22 p.m. PST

I'm doing a lot more wargaming related stuff. Only a slight increase in actual gaming time, but getting lots painted and running a figure business.

Personal logo Dal Gavan Supporting Member of TMP09 May 2023 2:23 p.m. PST

A bit more, but I'm trying a lot of new rules sets with the new group. That's left mixed feelings- not getting to play my old favourites, but also seeing some new-to-me rules sets.

LAP195409 May 2023 2:52 p.m. PST

NO! Been too busy taking care of others and working on community and church projects and services. Not what I planned in retirement. I have more miniatures to paint and models to build that I think I have life to live.

Kiama Kriegsspieler09 May 2023 3:52 p.m. PST

Yes, but not as much as I'd like! Long had dreams of how much gaming, reading and painting I'd do once retired, but now I'm there so much still gets in the way: my wife doesn't like to be left on her own too much, gardening, and challenges finding a suitable venue. I'm surprised here in Australia how much charities expect to charge for not for profit use of venues that would otherwise stand empty mid-week, church halls, masonic lodges etc. So still just wargaming on Thursday nights at the local Uni like I did whilst working!

Personal logo gamertom Supporting Member of TMP09 May 2023 5:00 p.m. PST

Yes, a bit over double what I was before retiring.

Munster09 May 2023 5:46 p.m. PST

Hi Kiama Kriegspieler, try the local Pubs and Clubs, here in Canberra the Vikings and Raider Clubs are often happy to allow the use of rooms at nil cost with the proviso that you are bumped if a paying customer comes along (fairly rare and they usually give lots of warning

No too much else to do, never saw how I made time for work.

COL Scott ret14 May 2023 8:44 p.m. PST

Getting closer to retirement every time I can't do things that I feel are more important, like several ministries I work with. As well as Traillife camping, hiking, canoeing etc. when I retire add in grandkids and I might be able to squeeze in a few more opportunities.

Hard telling not knowing.

Personal logo Herkybird Supporting Member of TMP15 May 2023 4:01 p.m. PST

I recently turned 65, so only 353 days, 6 hours, 1 minute, 43 seconds to go to find out, not that I am counting….!
