Almost a month since the last game due to Easter and work commitments but we're back with the fourth game in the Ruckzug campaign for Chain of Command. So far the Germans have been successful at keeping their British pursuers at bay and preventing a total rout. Can the Germans continue to hold off the British? The full AAR of game four is here: Ruckzug campaign Another Day, Another Village

As ever the exemplar for how to write AARs.

This is "textbook" on AAR writing for sure. Always conveys the stress and excitement of the game.

Another very nice and thorough AAR. Crocodilles and flamethrower teams seem a bit overpowering for units hurrying to follow up advances though. I really do like the campaign and hope to try it out.

Thanks Mark. I tend to agree on the flamethrowers and although they are available in the campaign as written we would suggest a few changes.

The British motor platoon is smaller than a regular platoon, which makes them quite brittle. They should be accompanied by plenty of armour given they are part of an armoured brigade. I'd be looking at making Shermans or Cromwells more easily available but exclude Churchills from the list altogether. Any mobile HE support would more likely come from Cromwell CS tanks or Centaurs, or alternatively a Sexton.

There are a few options for how to do this – give the platoon one Sherman/Cromwell for 'free' as part of the core platoon (and allow it to be replaced X many times); or make the first one a cheaper support (4 points?), or make them all cheaper (5 points?).

That sounds like a good fix and makes a lot of sense historically. Really nice campaign.

Excellent AAR. I don't know the rules being used, but I still understood everything that was happening. Great job.

Excellent, as usual. That was a hard won fight and you had much merit clinging to your positions in the face of what seemed to be an overwhelming assault. Your opponent suffered a stroke of bad luck with these 2 BTH rolls, and that's why CoC is so fun to play.

Great AAR. Will get thenmag with campaign to try with other WW2 games I own.
