Has anyone played these rules and, if so, what did you think of them? I was hoping to find a copy of Witchfinder general: Days of Revelation but they simply don't exist anymore.

I'm finding some reviews and a lot of bookstores advertising it, and also showing it as out of stock. Sorry I couldn't be more help and good luck in your hunt.

Thanks. One of those regrets. I should have bought it at the time, but no.

Haven't played them yet but they read as more "conventional" Salemy witch myth. I am looking forward to trying them though. There's the Devil in the Wilderness with a somewhat similar approach. It just got an addon recently. Then for higher fantasy smaller skirmish, there's Verrotwood. You play cults in a Folk Horror setting. You can tweak all of them to fit your setting of course.

Nightwatch: Terror and Treasure in the Dark Corners of the World.

Matchlock & Witchcraft (A skirmish game of 17th century Puritans facing the reality of their superstitions.

Both available from Wargames Vault as pdfs.

Correction..had my rule names mixed up. I have Matchlock and Witchcraft…not Witching Hour. I passed on WH due to the high price and lack of reviews.

Thanks for the alternatives everyone. I will give them a look. I agree, the price for Witchin' Hour is high without knowing anything about it.

I don't game witches and horror, but the Donnybrook skirmish rules, which I like, have a section for 18th century witches and cults if that's your thing.

I will keep that in mind. Does anyone know of any other rulesets I might be missing?

Do you consider the other folk horror fantasy games in the same vein? If so there's Lobster28 and The Weald. Not exactly Witch oriented but adjacent. That leads you down the road to Sludge and Turnip28. Ana Polanšćak (Gardens of Hecate) and her brother are working on a folk horror skirmish game too.

Correction again…not Lobster28….Lobsterpot 😁

Verrotwood is actually the WGV deal of the day today…under $5 USD link
