Chris Parker, Of Day Of Battle rules and 3D printing service, has advertised on TMP that he's selling the Bergman 3D model designed WWII models in 12mm (and 15mm) they seem reasonably priced (looks like as priced for units of 3 per), and with quantity discounts for multiple 'lots' of a type ordered. link I haven't seen these as printed, but would seem like a good source (especially for N.America purchasing). |

I just ordered a smattering of 12mm tanks to see how they look in person. |

YA, thanks for your recon mission here and really looking forward to getting your impressions of them! |

Interesting – I can't seem to get a handle on his postage rates to Australia – or indeed anywhere – usually a deal breaker given US Postal rates! |

My sample order of DOB POD prints arrived today. TL;DR I like some of these enough to collect them, but… I have to order a sample of each model first, to be sure it's acceptable. A few initial observations:
All the pieces are vaguely sticky to the touch. I will probably bathe them in alcohol before applying primer, but I really can't tell if that's really necessary. The turrets all have their supports. The hulls do not, but do still have nubs where supports were removed. All the pieces need some cleanup before priming. The turret pegs all fit really well into the holes in the hulls made for them. A bit too well, in fact I have to sand off the bumps left behind by the supports in order to get them to fit loosely enough (just barely) to rotate. Print lines: - The T-34/85 has print lines on the front hull slope, deep and prominent enough to stop me from ordering more.
- On both the Panzer III models I ordered, the gun shield has a bit of vertical stepping, which will be pretty much impossible to clean up, but is on a very tiny area. I won't know if it's a problem until I try painting them. I suspect it may be enough to ruin washes and drybrushing on that spot, but probably not enough to notice under plain paint.
- I also ordered Sherman 105s and two varieties of M3 Stuart, which have no print lines anywhere that I care about. I will definitely be ordering more of those.
As shown in the photos on the web site, the gun barrels are a wee bit oversized in diameter. The amount of exaggeration won't bother me, and I appreciate the extra strength for wargaming pieces, but it might be a show stopper for some. Detail is exactly as I thought it would be from viewing the web site photos. I find the detail level on the tracks a bit poor, but the level of visible detail on everything else looks more than good enough for wargaming to my eye. I will leave it to others to evaluate the accuracy of details (locations, sizes, missing/not supposed to be there, etc.). - Ix |

Thanks for your detailed report here YA! (some annoying quality variations with the bunch) :( I was advised to place sticky 3D resin prints out in the sunlight for a few hours to help complete the curing process (by another POD business)- and that worked with those supplier's minis. Darn that we need to place pilot-orders to determine the models worthy for follow-up orders. |

With all the sources we have now I really appreciate when others take the time to detail their experience as Yellow Admiral has done. A few pictures would be nice as well. I am with FlyXwire as well. Hate we need to place pilot orders. Further it is an issue when quality of the items vary from one to the other such that you need to get examples of each one you want rather then being able to judge the whole line from a few examples. |

I just saw this thread and thank you all for your orders and comments. I find some times the minis are a tad sticky but usually placing them in a clear bowl of water in the sun for 10 minutes or so helps this. This is a rare occurrence. Detail pro and cons are of course based on the designer which i did not do but I must hand it to Mr. Bergman the amount of stuff he did is overwhelming. Also an FYI he donates the royalties from merchants right to the MS society of NZ. Shipping to AUS is a flat $20 USD Finally while I market them in 3's feel free to reach out to me for any quantity you want include sample quantities in 1's. TY all Chris |

I thought you might like to see a 12mm Matilda I just printed for somebody. A little shiny in the flash :)

Chris, these look great! A shinny flash would help bring out side-ways viewed surface imperfections looks like these passed the flash test. |
