I asked this question ages ago and no one was able to point me in the right direction, so given how quickly things change, especially with the advent of stl files, I thought I'd ask again. The Meroë Head link was found in, quelle surprise, Meroë and came from a larger than life size statue of Augustus. I thought it would be good to include in my Meroitic baggage, possibly intact, possibly already decapitated. I think a 28mm scale statue would be close enough, although maybe a 1:72 might be better. I've looked for stl files but it's not my forte. Is anyone, such as a Roman player, aware of a suitable model or file? Cheers, John PS. I keep reading that the statue was "larger than life" or "heroic" in size, but I don't know how tall it would have been. If anyone knows better . . . PPS. Couldn't edit the typo in the heading sorry. Saw it just after posting . . . |

How about Hinchliffe? I used this figure as a statue painted as verdigris bronze, link |

That's one option already thanks BillyNM. Any other ideas out there in the ether? Thanks, John |

The Wikipedia page for the Meroe Head links to a Wayback copy of Sterling's "Image and portraiture of Augustus" which suggests that the original statue would have been about eight feet tall. Perhaps the last figure of these guys link or the last but one of link might be suitable. |

Thanks everyone. Now I've found this yeggi.com/q/augustus Funny how I've never been able to find one before, even searching for this exact statue. So when I go into work next time I'll be picking the brains of the 3d printing expert there to see if it will be usable at about 1/10 of its intended size, and if she'll print it for me :~} Cheers, John |
