About to start on a sizeable project --28mm US and VC companies from the Gringo40 range. What does the hive recommend as a basic uniform and webbing colours for the US? Naturally clothing and webbing would bleach and fade and the painter (not me) will attend to that, so it's a matter of a suitable base to work from, which will be airbrushed on everything. I've seen Vallejo gunship green recommended for uniforms and Russian Green for webbing, but that the former seems a bit dark to me. |

I'm not at home till Sunday but if you want I will post the colours I use on my NAM stuff. I'm terrible at remembering the names of the colours! So I really don't want to lead you down the wrong pave by guessing. |

As promised the colours I use,
Uniform vallejo US Dark Green
GW Black wash
Then start with US dark green to reinstate the base colour
First highlight Vallejo Russian uniform
Then highlight vallejo Green grey Equipment Vallejo Yellow Olive
GW Black wash
Reinstate Yellow olive
Highlight with khaki or US Drab (vallejo) Hope that helps, I do vary the highlights colours just to give abit more variety. Just let me know if I can help anymore. |
