I haven't posted on my wargamer blog for a little over a year, which when I realized it was kinda shocking. Maybe the shock was good since it led me to go put up a new post! A couple of friends and I plan to rendezvous at the upcoming "Sand Wars" convention in Mesa, AZ to run a 160th Anniversary Battle of Camerone game. Should be fun, definitely for us, and hopefully for any/all players too.

Fair Warning: While writing the new blog post I went off on a tangent re: my dog who passed away this past July a little short of his 13th birthday., so the post ended up being as much about him as the coming convention game to commemorate the April 30th 1863 battle.

That being said, if you're interested I invite you to click the handy LINK below to visit my blog, and thanks in advance for your time if you choose to do so…

Camerone – that sounds like a "fun" battle.

What scale is this in? And, how did you go about building the compound? This is a battle I have been longing to do.

I see Foundry figs I think – 28mm I would guess – nice looking game and great minis!

Thanks guys!

The figures and all the buildings are 28mm, so 1/56th scale.

I designed the compound based on all the research I could gather and at the time was very lucky that Chris The Model Maker agreed to let me pay him to build it for me.

The hacienda compound is 30" square, which is a 1:1 match in ground scale terms with the 1/56th scale figures.

EDIT: Good eye, Frederick!
