I'd like a refresh on what rules are available for this period. I have some wants with it.

1). Something that fully supports the use of gunpowder weapons.

2). Something that either uses WRG basing, or is basing agnostic. I plan on solo gaming, so violating basing isn't a big deal, but I like all my armies with similar basing.

If you are interested in skirmish games Test of Honour is very good.

Test of Honour is a great game, fairly sympathetic to individual tweaks, not many Figures.

Does Taiko or Bushido support Joeson era Koreans as opponents as well?

Little Wars TV did a review of various Samurai wargaming rules. Would be a good start to get an understanding of some options out there.

Skirmish is kind of easy to tackle but larger battle rules run into some issues with the various tactical formations and unit organization that was used. Depends on how close to accurate you want your rules.

I liked Chipco's Chrysanthemum Throne. Very much a game as opposed to a simulation but flexible enough to handle Joeson Koreans.
