Well I had those Art Miniaturen Silesians left over, as we did not need any more Red lancers for the Duty squadron. I thought Brunswick lancers might be of use, so added the tailed shabraque and sheepskin saddle (not too sure about the latter). Nothing I could do about the caplines, which are very Prussian. Daft thing was failing to spend a few minutes altering the epaulettes and filing off the overall buttons. Hopefully, from a distance they look like the black lancers
I also add a pic of an ammo wagon by Hagen miniatures, gifted to me by Thomas Mischak. If you are wondering why there is a penguin on each side……well I find the eagle hard to do in 1/72

Thanks all

Funny thing. Three sons and one (the latest one, after 31 years together) wife like the little cart far more also.

I have to learn to keep it simple and have been told that so many times

The figures look fantastic. Very nicely done. The horses are especially beautiful

very nice, I likw the hues you use for your horses, what colours, brand, title do you use for them, all your effort pay out very well and shows your enthusiasm.

Beautiful work, mate. And there's probably less than three people, out of all those who will see the diorama, that would be able to pick out the lack of cap lines or the buttons on the overalls as not quite right. And you'd be one of them. :-)

Heck, I would even count the buttons…….

The horse colours? Very simple actually. Black spray undercoat, various citadel browns then, ideally the lighter colours. The difference is then applying a couple of different waterproof acrylic inks I have picked up over the years. Diluted of course and even then the end result tends to be a bit uniform. An Acrylic matt varnish from Windsor and Newton tones them down even more!

I love the Contrast idea over an off white, for horses with a smooth finish (eg plastics or Franznap) but not for any metals than can a be a bit pitted.

Lovely.

I've always wanted to do some Brunswick uhlans – that colour combination is one of the most beautiful of all Nap uniforms, in my opinion.

As others have said, the horse colours look great too.

Good to hear from you. I had almost forgotten these!

I did think the Brunswick Uhlans would work out well, even if there are minor detail errors in their rig. They started out as 3rd Silesian Landwehr after all.

The surprise for me is how good the more sombre Horse Artillery are looking. Finished and based the eight guns today and I am beginning to respect what was called "a moving hearse"
