I'm trying to identify two different minis, without success, and will not know rest until I have done so.

The base is marked with an image of a crown with an "S" underneath it, and 1980 2008L

These two have © 1978, and three words that I cannot decipher because they aren't very well cast, on the bases. It looks like ?LAN MER** and the last one is just a small rectangular smudge. That first word could plausibly be ALAN or PLAN. I associate them with LOTR, but my memory is less than reliable.

Anyone know the sources?

The horsemen look like they might be "Rangers of the North, mounted" from the old Heritage "Lord of the Rings" line:

The ent/walking tree is not from that line, afaik

I would agree with that. The cav immediately struck me as long OOP Heritage figures. No idea on the Ent.

The ent is a Saxon Manufacturing: Large Treeman

About halfway down the page.

Thank you, all of you! Glad that I was right about the LOTR connection, at least, but that Treeman was driving me completely mad. I was so sure that it was from Minifigs or Heritage until I started looking.
