Did not loop into anything on Crecy with that link. It was playing whatever was on at that moment. |

Odd that "The Rest is History" pod has just done a series on the early phase of the Hundred Years War as well. Will listen to both. |

Worth looking through the In our time archive – lots of interesting topics especially in the historical themes. Cnut was a recent episode, good discussion. |

The 'Rest is History' is also of varying quality but sets Crécy in better context (although somebody should tell Dominic Sandbrook he's not as funny as he thinks). The BBC in a long run-up to Crécy manages to overlook the battle of Sluys. 'Cnut' was indeed a good episode, though. |

Thank you for the additional link, and it did seem worth listening in on it. |

Remember – this is just the seminar – each episode comes with a reading list of typically a dozen or more books for further information. |

Thanks for the links. My son is very curiousin history and it was interesting for him to listen. What books would you recommend in the context of Crécy? We're mainly learning from podcasts and open sources like studymoose.com/free-essays/history where we can find good papers on various history topics. The last one I bought him was Don Troiani's Soldiers in America 1754-1865 book and if there is something colorful on that topic it would be great. He has a birthday coming up and this would be a great gift. Thanks |
