The normal sized range, quite a good sculpt IMO

They're multipart, so you can have variety. You can even swap heads!

Now that is interesting.

Their site says;

"First of the re tooled re scaled figures sets produced in response to customer feedback to complement the existing Valiant range".

Everyone thought the original figures were far too large to mix with almost any other figures, however good they undoubtedly were. Criticism was challenged by the company, with some justification as to scale, but I found their US set unusable. Figures in hard plastic, that can be assembled without drilling and pinning, have always been welcome and the "First of" phrase is very promising, assuming that they are indeed smaller.

That is good news. I also found the original larger US set unusable. Too big for 20mm/1/72 and too small for 25/28mm.

well, they have the first in range for years, now… I was hoping they would expand some day, but to say the least, they are in no hurry.
This said, the posable minis are welcome indeed.

Interesting, might get some of those, didn't buy the originals due to the scale issue.

I have the US figures. They are very nice although somewhat big headed. However, unfortunately, they do not mix with the Germans, nor with anything else for that matter.

If these are not "new" then they are making a huge commercial mistake. They have a great product, but made a mistake in their initial sizing. Whatever their argument about scale, as they presented on TMP, all their customers seem to be "out of step" with their concept. So admit a mistake and retool and watch sales then take off.

How disappointing. I checked on Facebook (something I avoid like the plague) and found these "first of/new" figures emerged in 2018. Nothing since.

They posted an interesting comparison shot, showing what they can achieve

Well, they are not that taller but are somewhat sturdier.
Here is how they compare with some Revell men.

I don't think the difference is too bad, but that's just my opinion. ;)

Personally, I liked the original Valiant minis in the larger size. They had a toy soldier quality to them.

This "new" range of smaller Valiants does appear to be a dead end.

And as can be seen in the previous pictures, their proportions are still far too unique to mix well with any other plastics.
