They're having a 10% sale, and have been having numerous ads and sales going on here at TMP.
However, I know that they have a very checkered past.
Although I am interested in some of their mats, I just don't want to go through the whole BTD experience all over again.
So if anyone has done any recent business with them, how was it, and how was the product?
Thanks in advance.

Still waiting on my mat or a refund from an order 53 weeks ago.

I ordered from them back in December. It took a lot of work to get my product that I paid for up front – many e-mails, took a PayPal dispute to finally get them to ship it to me. they had many excuses – way too much effort to get what I paid for. The mat was ok, nothing great. I will stick with Cigar Box Battle Mat from now on.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you stay away from them – not a good company to buy from. Tell them to ship you the product and when you get it, you will pay for it – that is the only way I would buy from them again.

I'm sorry to hear that I'm not the only one. I orderded a custom made mat last year and they sent me a standard mat. We went back and forth about the requirements for the custom mat that I had paid for and then they stopped communicating with me without any warning. I finally had to initiate a PayPal dispute (only the second time I've every had to do that). I did get a full refund.

Thanks for this info.

This was informative; and helped me decide to scrub that Etsy store from my "favorites", it seems to be a bad risk to place an order from them, no matter how enticing some products look. I have enough ongoing hassles with unreliable Amazon and eBay sellers.

A few years back ordered a custom mat from Tiny. Got the mat but the specs were wrong. Loved the product and decided to order another mat but the communication went sour and in the end I cancelled the order and got my money back through Paypal. After all this I am still tempted but I've turned to Deep Cut Studios instead (who are true professionals.) I think I slightly like Tiny games mat over the Deep Cut but the difference in communication and trust isn't worth it.

Ultimately delivered what was ordered, but only after several painful months of abysmal follow-up. Customer service is not their priority.
I've had a similar experiences 2 other times over the past 8 years.
I'm done.

Just reminding people of this guy!

Hello everybody.
As an update, more than one year has now passed since my original order of 2 wargame mats to Tiny Wargames. Apart from a few illusory and useless messages received from them by the time, no mats have ever been sent to me. I can now safely tell you all that Tiny Wargames have robbed me of 204 British pounds, as no refunding has been granted to me.
Be warned then, that has been my personal experience with Tiny Wargames.
Bruno,
Italy.

Update: Tinywargames had the audacity today to send me a marketing email about some 'new' products and a 15% discount code.

I am still waiting for my REFUND for over 6 months ago (May 2024) as I have basically given up on ever receiving the goods ordered.

Apparently order still in 'processing', for half a year.

They still don't answer their phone or reply to emails.

Buyer beware of online orders.

Announcement: Closing Tinywargames

Dear Customers and Supporters,

After many years of dedication to the wargaming community, I have made the difficult decision to close Tinywargames. This business has been a labor of love, and while there have been many highs, the increasing negativity and challenges from a small but vocal minority of the community have made it impossible to continue with the same passion and energy.

Over the years, Tinywargames has achieved so much. We created over 400 unique products, attended 100 shows, generated £750,000.00 GBP in sales, and served over 12,500 customers worldwide. We even had the honour of creating the world's biggest wargame mat! These milestones are something I will always be proud of, and I am incredibly grateful to the customers who supported us and helped make these achievements possible.

We recently launched Warmats as a new product to provide something fresh for the hobby, but even that has been overshadowed by the ongoing negativity. Constructive feedback is always welcome, but the level of toxicity from a minority has been relentless, causing immense stress and even impacting my health. It's simply not worth it anymore.

We even explored selling the business to another party in hopes they could take it forward, but unfortunately, they only made things worse and created even more issues. This experience has been incredibly disappointing and has reinforced my decision to step away from Tinywargames entirely.

You only have to look at companies like Games Workshop, a billion-pound business, to see that even the most successful brands are not immune to harsh comments from communities. However, for a small business like ours, this kind of negativity is exhausting and unsustainable. A handful of negative customers have finally pushed me over the edge.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported Tinywargames over the years. To our loyal customers and those who truly valued our products—you have been the reason we kept going, and I cannot thank you enough.

Thank you to those who supported us through the years—you've made a difference, and I will always appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Richard Bailey
