Would Battletech have made the list? It's still pretty much old school, a derivative of SFB? BT is insanely popular right now, which blows my mind.

I do like SFB over BT and remember eagerly awaiting Captain's Logs and small-book supplements. Then it collapsed on its own weight. Good times.

Starship Troopers had one flaw that the Arachnid player could drive a truck through and essentially guarantee a win. Promise of honorable play so that the game is actually fun and it works fine.
