Hello everyone,

Is there a specific rule by Phil Barker for the XVIII th century which would be a continuity of DBM/DBR ?

That is to say a rule with the same system?

Thank you,

Pascal

Have a look here: link

Phil Barker drafted a set of rules called Horse, Foot and Guns covering the musket to rifle period. Were various versions on line for play testing but not sure where this is at now?

Also DBN is a variant focussing on Napoleonic wars, which can be purchased via dbnwargaming.co.uk and I believe they have versions for the ACW and colonial but not played these. DBN is good!

cheers

MajorB, I bought it, we'll see…

Apparently Phil Barker wrote in draft 3 sub-sets to HFG, being roughly lace wars, naps, 19thc.

Set at two stands per battalion.

I have never been able to find a copy.

There are versions of "DBSYW" out there, Pascal. The version I've played here worked reasonably well, though it's still being polished up.

You can find a game report and some photos at link

I hope that HFG will please me.

Horse, Foot and Guns has been through many iterations over the decades. I find the latest version ludicrously complex (so very much like DBM!) and much preferred the version with divisional stands from the late 90s. The basic concepts are still very sound though, brilliant even. I love the treatment of villages and strong points, and the concept of a 'brilliant' general.

I agree with Martin. Barker fiddled around with HF&G so much that it became a complete mess. The first version was clean and playable, later iterations not so much.

I'm waiting for Horse, Foot and Guns Version 1.1, have there been others since?

What army lists for her?

No separate booklets? It's like for DBA?

Hello everyone,

Impossible to find a Horse, Foot and Guns Version 2.0, there are only Horse, Foot and Guns Version 1.1?

And also impossible to find a copy of "Tricorne & Musket", a copy of " Shako & Bayonet" and a copy of " Kepi & Rifle"?

Yet these 4 rules are indicated "as to come" on the front of the cover of "Horse, Foot and Guns Version 1.1"?
