Looking for some sort of painting guide, preferably Vallejo colors. Is anyone aware of one out the in the cyber world?

can't help with colors, but can suggest you track down the movie "April 9th" about a company of Danish Bicycle troops.

Click on the first picture on page of Great Escape's Danish range, it will provide you a pdf painting guide: link

Thanks for the help. I can figure out the colors from there I think. That and watching April 9 for the 4th or fifth time. One of my favorite movies. My grandfather immigrated to the US from Denmark well before the war, but I wanted to do a Danish force none the less.

Stoss, I'm of the same mindset. April 9 is a phenomenal movie IMO; I too have Danish ancestry, watching April 9 and memories of my trip to the Krigsmuseet in Copenhagen inspire me to paint up some 1940 Danish troops. A TMP member put together a mini campaign with scenarios coming from the scenes of the movie. If you run a few queries on this site you should be able to track down the PDF.

I may have saved that campaign, I'll have to check. If not I'll get it for sure.

My general rule of thumb for any and all 'minor' powers in WW2, be the Rumanian, Dutch, Hungarian, Danish or whatever is to paint them brown. Brown seems to have been a very popular uniform colour. Vallejo English Uniform does nicely.

Finns and Swedes were apparently the exceptions in grey of course.

Yeah after watching April 9th again this week looks like English uniform will do nicely.

Anyone do 1940 Danes in 15mm or in 1/72nd plastic? I'm interested, but in a small project.

you could probably get away with Dutch in greatcoats in 15mm the helmets are similar.
