Link to a very impressive diorama.

This large diorama shows a frozen scene of the Battle of Leipzig in 1813. You can see the village of Möckern which was located north of Leipzig. On 35 square meters the fierce houses and street battles between the French and the Silesian army are shown. The diorama shows the conditions on the afternoon of 16.10.1813 around 16:00 o'clock in scale in 1/72 but in the case of buildings, landscape and figures in a ratio of 1 to 1. More than 13500 hand-painted figures populate the diorama.

Creation 2012 to 2013

Really nice. However, the smoke from the burning buildings is billowing in the wrong direction. The wind was from the southwest on the day of the battle. :-)

Very impressive.

That's truly impressive, Ian. I wish I'd known about the museum when I was in Germany in '19. I was in Hannover and could easily have got there.
